Imperial College London, United Kingdom
Professor Iain Colin Prentice holds the AXA Chair in Biosphere and Climate Impacts at Imperial College London. He was a founding Director of the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry and a Professor at Lund, Bristol and Macquarie Universities. He has been a pioneer in global ecosystem modelling and is currently developing a mathematically tractable ‘next-generation’ model, using eco-evolutionary optimality principles to exploit diverse observational data sources. With >250 published papers encompassing palaeoecology, ecological data analysis, global vegetation modelling, biosphere-climate interactions and terrestrial carbon cycle science, he was included in Thomson Reuters 2014 list of the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds.
