Hubertus Fischer

Hubertus Fischer is professor for experimental climate physics at the University of Bern, where he is carrying out research on changes in past climate and biogeochemical cycles using polar ice cores. Dr. Fischer has participated in many European ice core projects in Greenland and Antarctica and has been awarded in 2015 for the second time with a European Research Council Advanced Grant for his work. He is also president of the Swiss Committee on Polar and High Altitude Research and has served as co-chair of the IGBP/Future Earth core project PAGES (Past Global Changes) from 2010-2016.
